COVID-19 UPDATES

Visit admissions.cofc.edu/covid-19/ for the latest COVID-19 Office of Admissions updates.

At the College of Charleston, we strongly believe that diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences are integral parts of a liberal arts education. We attract international students from all over the world, and offer a lively mix of cultural exchange both in and out of the classroom. You'll study in the heart of one of the most historic cities in the United States, and one that — because it is located in a major East Coast seaport — has a decidedly cosmopolitan feel.

Sister-State Scholarship Opportunity

If you are a resident of one of the following regions, you are eligible for our Sister-State Scholarship. You'll be awarded our in-state-resident tuition rate - over a 50% reduction in the tuition you would pay as an international student.

  • Queensland, Australia - Sister-state since 2003
  • Brandenburg, Germany - Sister-state since 1993
  • Rheinland Pfalz, Germany - Sister-state since 1993
  • Thüringen, Germany - Sister-state since 1993
  • Taiwan - Sister-state since 1981

Here’s how it works.

STEP 1: Choose your application method (CofC Online Application or The Common Application)

STEP 2: Once you have been accepted, use your passport to demonstrate that you are a citizen of one of our sister states.

STEP 3: Enroll as an undergraduate at our in-state, resident tuition rate, on account of the long-standing friendship and alliance between our state of South Carolina and yours!
