Learning about Financial Aid

Financial Aid at the College of Charleston Video

You can get tips about navigating the financial aid process at College of Charleston from a current student in our Financial Aid video. The U.S. Department of Education's federal student aid information website is a great way for students and their families to educate themselves about the financial aid process.

We also recommend you try the FAFSA4casterSM to get an estimate (just an informal calculation) of how much financial aid you possibly could receive. From there, you can learn what types of aid are available.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The first step for anyone seeking financial aid at the College of Charleston is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can complete the application as early as October 1 in the year prior to your enrollment. Even if you don't think you qualify for financial aid, we encourage you to submit a FAFSA. If you are an entering freshman please refer to the Timeline for Freshman.
