Mississippi State University '12, B.A. Communication
Jonathan spent his undergraduate career at Mississippi State University where he was heavily involved in student recruitment. As a freshman, he was selected to be a campus tour guide, known as a Roadrunner, and was active with the organization throughout his four years at Mississippi State University. In the summer between his sophomore and junior years, he served as an Orientation Leader to welcome new students and help acclimate them to the campus. He was also very active in his fraternity, serving as public relations chairman for three years. Prior to joining the Cougar family, Jonathan served as an admissions counselor at MSU. He has always had a great passion for student recruitment and enjoys helping students and families make the transition from high school to college. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, being active and enjoying everything Charleston has to offer.
Jonathan’s admission tip: Start visiting schools early and often. Don’t overwhelm yourself with the process, of course, but take time to find that place that is “home” for you. After all, you’re going to be spending the next four (or more) years of your life there. Take in everything you can while on campus, and pay attention to what they’re looking for in applicants. But don’t just go for the campus tour; go for the city tour. See what each place can offer you as a whole.
