What will life be like when you’re a College of Charleston student?

Find out at Accepted Student Weekend!

Registration for Accepted Student Weekend is now closed  If you have not yet visited the College, we encourage you to do so at another time. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at admissionsevents@cofc.edu.

March 23-24, 2012 Accepted Student Weekend (REGISTRATION CLOSED)

• Spend the weekend in Charleston.
• Explore the campus.
• Meet our students and your professors.
• Get to know the city.
• Make your decision.

PLEASE NOTE: This special weekend event is for students who have been accepted to the College of Charleston. This is not an orientation and you are not required to attend this event. Orientation, which is required for entering students, is offered later in the summer.

Accepted Student Weekend will help you make that final decision about attending College of Charleston. The event is designed for both parents and students and you’ll meet current students, faculty, staff and possibly even a future roommate! There will be a variety of events on both days which will highlight our campus, outstanding academics as well as our student life at College of Charleston. You can choose to come for either Friday or Saturday’s events or make a weekend of it and stay for both!

Friday, March 23rd  Download schedule of Events Here!
Friday’s schedule is flexible and is designed to allow families time to explore the City of Charleston as well as campus. Registration and events begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Admissions Office but you can pick and choose when to arrive and what to do. A variety of panels will be held throughout the day on topics such as student life, Greek life, pre-law, pre-health professions, financial aid and more. Buses will be available for families who want to explore our off campus facilities like the Grice Marine Biology Laboratory or the CofC Sports Complex at Patriots Point – both a short 10min ride from downtown. *You will need to pick up tickets at registration and there is limited space available. We will have tours of the campus, “a day in the life of a student” tours as well as residence hall tours later that afternoon. There will be a Welcome Reception for families on Friday evening from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. We encourage families to have dinner in the city and enjoy the many activities that Charleston has to offer. *Events for admitted Honors College students, multicultural students and students interested in Jewish Life on campus will also be held on Friday.*

Saturday, March 24th  Download schedule of Events Here!
Saturday is much of a structured day where everyone follows a set schedule. Check-in anytime between 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. in the TD Arena where our academic schools will have an information fair.  All attendees (typically about 3000 people) will attend an Opening Session where you’ll hear from a current student as well as an administrator. Next, all attendees will split into three large groups and follow a planned loop around campus that allow you to explore three stations. 1. Browse the student organization and student support street fair where our student clubs and organizations as well as support services like study abroad, meal plans, and career center will have information tables set up for questions. 2. Students will attend a class while parents will attend a specially designed panel and 3. Have lunch on us outside on Rivers Green where the Office of New Student Programs will also be set up for questions. The early afternoon (around 1pm) will have activities that include the academic school receptions, orientation registration, as well as additional tours of campus and the residence halls. Saturday’s planned events will end by 4pm.

A more detailed schedule for both will be available on February 1st via the website.

Making Your Travel Plans

Some students will be receiving inviations to additional Friday events (Honors Experience, Simply the Best, and Jewish Student Union/Hillel). You will be receiving a separate invitation to these events by mid-February, so keep an eye on your mailbox.
