Accepted Student Weekend
March 18-19, 2016
We can't wait to host you and your family in Charleston for this incredible weekend. We assure you—you’ll be glad you came!
ASW registration is open! This event is designed for accepted students and their families. Explore campus. Chat with students. Meet your professors and maybe even a roommate! We will host a variety of events on both days; you may choose to attend Friday or Saturday’s events—or make a weekend of it and stay for both!
Friday will be a casual day on campus with an a-la-carte schedule.
Check-in for the Weekend will be located at 65 George Street, the Office of Admissions, and will begin at 11 a.m. Throughout the day, we’ll offer student panels and campus tours. Many of our student support offices will be hosting open houses. So use Friday as your chance to explore the incredible city of Charleston. We believe that campus extends beyond George Street to the city between the Cooper and Ashley Rivers.
Saturday is the big day!
Check-in will be from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the TD Arena, 301 Meeting Street.
Saturday introduces you to life at the College of Charleston. Our student volunteers will guide you through campus where you’ll experience a lecture with our First Year Experience faculty members, you’ll dine in one of our residential restaurants the Liberty Street Fresh Food Company, and interact with involved students through a student organization street fair.
Be sure to attend our academic receptions in the afternoon for the opportunity to meet with faculty members and current students in your future major- you might even meet the dean of your school!
All residence halls will be open Saturday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for you to scope out your future home.
In true Charleston fashion, the entire city is eager to welcome you and your family! The College has partnered with hotels and transportation services to ensure you're set from the moment you arrive.
Flying in for the Weekend?
- You'll find student and staff concierges (sporting College of Charleston gear) at both concourses to direct you to baggage claim, rental cars and shuttles.
- Thanks to the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) and Charleston International Airport (CHS), you can catch a shuttle from the airport to downtown for $1 per rider. Shuttles will depart from the airport hourly beginning at 9:00 a.m. The final shuttle will depart at 5:00 p.m. Just provide your flight details here, and we'll take care of the rest.
- CARTA shuttle service will drop you off at the Visitor's Center on Meeting Street.
Can't decide where to stay?

Ride in style with Charleston Rickshaw!
No doubt Charleston is a pedestrian-friendly city. But after a long day of walking or dining at a local restaurant, it’s nice to put your feet up for a bit. Enter: Charleston Rickshaw Company. Let the folks at Charleston Rickshaw pedal you around downtown. (Slip them an extra tip—many of them are CofC students!)
Visit charlestonrickshaw.com or call 843.723.5685 to make a reservation.
Note: Accepted students are not required to attend. Orientation, which is required for entering students, is offered in the summer.
