Grants and Scholarships
If you are interested in receiving federal financial aid, be sure to fill out the FAFSA. See our financial aid website for complete information about the financial aid process. Undergraduate grants and scholarships are only available to students seeking a first bachelors degree.
Institutional and State Scholarships
The College does not offer institutional, merit-based scholarships for transfer students, but you may qualify for a state scholarship if you are a South Carolina resident. If you want to be considered for a state scholarship, you must submit high school transcripts and college transcripts. No other application is required.
Once you've enrolled at the College, you can apply for departmental scholarships.
Adult Student Grants and Scholarships
If you are 21 years of age or older, you may apply for our adult student grants and scholarships. Descriptions of the various grants and scholarships you may qualify for are on the application form. The deadlines for the application are July 1 for the fall semester, and November 1 for the spring semester.
To apply, you must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, and have been accepted for admission to the College of Charleston. Two to three annual scholarships, pending funding, may be awarded each fall term for the academic year. Recipients must register for a minimum of 12 semester hours each term (fall and spring). They must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at the College of Charleston in order for the scholarship to be renewed for one additional academic year (pending sufficient funding). To apply, submit an application along with two letters of recommendation.
