Video of the Week!

Marion Square—Outdoor Recreation at the College of Charleston

A College of Charleston videographer caught these students playing pick-up games of football, frisbee and lacrosse in Marion Square (affectionately referred to as Marion Square Beach). Located right next to campus in historic downtown Charleston, Marion Square provides a huge green space for hanging out, studying, sports, and more. It is pretty typical that students are wearing shorts and flip flops through November, and again starting in February or March—that's the beauty of a Southern campus.

These games were just groups of friends playing, but the College also offers club teams—click here for more information about the club teams offered.

Marion Square is located at the corner of King and Calhoun Streets, across from the Francis Marion Hotel.
